The entry way into the atrium is through the old facade of the building, which was preserved.
As in the pre-renovation days, some classes will still be held in the tower. Stairs take people up to windows which grant an excellent view of Baltimore.
The number of stairways has been reduced from 8 to 3. Elevators will ensure handicapped accessibility.
Offices will line the hallways. Before the renovations, administrative offices were clustered at the back of each floor, blocking the entire hallway and making it impossible to walk the full circuit of a floor. That problem no longer exists.
A museum housing the University's archelogical collection will sit beneath the Atrium.
While all classrooms in Gilman Hall will incorporate modern technology, some will have advanced technology similar to that in Hodson Hall.
The Hutzler Reading Room, popularly known as "the Hut," will now be air conditioned.
